Yvonne was my mum.She was an amazing woman and i miss her dearly.
She was gran to my children Shane-Hayley-Sam-and Rosie.
Mum took Ill just before easter and i new then it was serious as it was the first time ever that she had turned down our weekly shopping trip to town.
She had a head ache that wouldnt go away.
But she carried on going to the work that she loved at the salvation army where she had worked for many years looking after others.
I think the pain got to much to bear so mum was taken to hospital where she was told she had multiple brain tumours.
The doctors didnt tell her how bad it was but they told me and andrew her partner that she had probably 3 months to live.
We didnt tell mum this as she said she wanted to fight it all the way.
Treatment was arranged for her and went ahead.
Unfortunatley it didnt help her and she went down hill, and was re admitted to hospital and i new then that she wasnt gonna come home.
Mum and Andrew decided that they would like to get married,the doctor said basically if you want to get married you have to do it today.
So there was a race against time to get a wedding organised as mum wanted to get wed at the salvation army where she worked.
My mum and i was whisked away by ambulance with a nurse to the salvation army where she got married with all her family around her .She could bearley say her vows and it was heart breaking to watch.
The salvation army have played a big part in mine and my mums life and have helped me through some bad times special thanks to Major Rita Jepson and Major Richard Cushing who gave my mum the funeral she deserved and for all the support they gave my mum while she was ill.
Mum we all love you very much and life hasnt been the same without you.You still had lots of living to do.
The kids miss you especially rose and Shane.
Love you lots ma dont forget,WE MISSED THE HUNGRY YEARS THE ONCE UPON A TIMES ,THE LOVELY LONG AGOES COS WE DIDNT HAVE A DIME -EH MA!
